Erica Witz graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Political Science in 2007 and received her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in 2014. After relocating to Delmarva in 2013, Ms. Witz clerked in the Circuit Court for Wicomico County for the Honorable W. Newton Jackson, III from 2014 – 2015 and for the Honorable Leah J. Seaton from 2015 – 2016.
From 2016 – 2018, Ms. Witz was an Assistant Public Defender, practicing in Wicomico, Somerset, Dorchester and Worcester Counties. In 2018, she joined the Somerset County State’s Attorney’s Office, where as an Assistant State’s Attorney she prosecuted a vast array of felony, misdemeanor, and traffic cases. She also served as the prosecutor for the Somerset County Recovery Court and volunteered at the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy as an instructor for law enforcement officers testifying in court regarding impaired driving cases. Ms. Witz joined Webb, Cornbrooks, Wilber, Douse, Mathers and Illuminati, LLP in 2021.
Ms. Witz is a member of the Wicomico County Bar Association, the Somerset County Bar Association, and the Maryland State Bar Association. Her work at Webb, Cornbrooks, Wilber, Douse, Mathers and Illuminati, LLP focuses on property law, land use, and municipal law.
