David A. Vorhis
Mr. Vorhis concentrates his practice on estate planning and administration and business law.
In his estate planning practice, Mr. Vorhis works with clients on strategies to reduce taxes, protect assets, plan for disability, and develop solutions for particular family issues such as business succession planning. He also assists clients with estate administration including probate, post-mortem planning steps to minimize taxes or make changes to an estate plan, Federal and State estate tax returns, and the administration of trusts.
Mr. Vorhis also has an active business law practice. He assists clients in establishing business entities such as corporations, limited liability companies and general and limited partnerships. He handles negotiation and preparation of contracts for the purchase and sale of businesses, real estate matters, lease agreements, buy-sell agreements, employment contracts and the various issues that arise in the management and operation of businesses.
Mr. Vorhis is a frequent lecturer on topics such as Estate Planning, Estate Administration, Asset Protection and Charitable Gift Planning. In addition to presentations to the general public, he has made presentations to Maryland Circuit Court Judges, Maryland and Delaware CPAs, and planned giving professionals.
Mr. Vorhis is active in a number of community and civic organizations. He is a Director of the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, and is a past Chairman of the Peninsula Regional Medical Center Foundation. He has also served as President of the Delmarva Estate Planning Council.
Mr. Vorhis is a graduate of Swarthmore College and received his law degree from the University of Virginia. He is a member of the Wicomico County and Maryland State Bar Associations, and is a fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation.
